Sadly.....we said goodbye to Diva 12 days shy of her 13th birthday. She lives on in her many descendants here at Chelsea........... You were unique and one of a kind....definitely your own little person.........
DIVA
Diva represents our 10th generation
of breeding. On her dam's side she not only traces 3 times to
our first champion bitch (Ch. Chelsea Gold Mist who finished in
1976 with 4 majors), but she also traces multiple times to most
of the specialty winning champions we have bred over the last
thirty-nine years!! In three months she will be 13!
Congratulations Diva on your
first litter!
Because of our move to Southern
California in late 2006 and the remodeling of our new home in
2008, all breeding plans were put on hold. As a result we waited
several years to breed Diva. Finally on February 12, 2009, she
whelped an all tricolor litter. Like all of our bitches she proved
to be an absolutely fabulous mom! Click here

Diva's Show Career
She started her show career in late
2005 with a WB, BOW & BOS over specials at the Sacramento
Valley Collie Fanciers, under judge Mike Esch. Following that
she won back-to-back Best of Varieties (over specials) and a Herding
Group 4th! Following way too many major reserves (all specialty
shows except for one!), in Spring of 2006 she won a 4 point major
at the South Bay Collie Fanciers under Joe Purkhiser and the next
weekend a WB under Nioma Coen at the California Collie Fanciers...on the way to the National..
She won the Bred By Exhibitor bitch class at the National in 2006 and was one of three bitches pulled for winners. The judge told me after the show, she only lost on condition as she was just starting to blow coat! She was owner-handled all the way and shown exclusively in the
Bred By Exhibitor class!!!
On August 4, 2006 Diva passed her
Herding Instinct Test with flying colors!

On the way to her title, Diva won
the BRED BY EXHIBITOR BITCH class at the 2006 National Specialty
in Boise, ID. It was an honor to win this class and to be in contention
for Winners Bitch, under long time breeder-owner-handler judge,
Les Canavan. She was one of three bitches pulled out for Winners
Bitch. This was in spite of her blowing coat! - in an entry of
150!
Shown winning Winners Bitch just
before the National under judge Nioma Coen.

"Diva"
Pictured at 12 weeks!
A solo pup, whelped April Fools
Day (figures!), the moment I heard the little brat screaming,
I fell in love! As result of being the only pup in her litter,
her dam and human mom spoiled her rotten! She is really special...and
she knows it!!!
